As a child, Matt's favorite type of magic was sleight of hand and escapology. Now an adult, Matt has introduced many new forms of magic into his routines including mentalism and stage illusions. Many of Matt's performances have a street magic flair (close-up magic). Many magicians use trick decks and cards, but Matt believes that the most visual magic is achieved using normal cards and every day objects. The audience is most impressed when they can handle the objects themselves, turn the object over to the magician, and then witness the impossible.
Matt has been performing magic for children and adults alike for many years. He has had the privilege of performing in several different countries including the USA, Canada, and Ireland. Matt has produced several online magic videos including a very popular tutorial for coin manipulation. His viewers now number in the hundred-thousands. He has also been published in the online magic magazine "The Magic Roadshow," distributed to many different countries world-wide. A current member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) and previous member of the Fellowship of Chrisian Magicians (FCM), Matt has performed at such venues as the Space & Rocket Center, the Westin, and the world-famous Bridge Street Town Center.
Matt has worked specifically with children and youth in various settings including Sunday morning Bible studies, AWANA, VBS, various school programs, summer camps, mission trips, magic shows, and more for well over 10 years. Matt is a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. One of the main purposes of Matt's magic is to function as an icebreaker so that Matt might have a more effective way to share the love of Jesus Christ with his audiences.
In 2009, Matt had many opportunities to share the gospel at various churches and schools. God worked in a mighty way and we saw over 60 professions of faith in the 2009 season! We look forward to seeing what God has in store for the 2010 year.
